Another area lake has come up with a blue-green algae advisory.

Elinor Lake, southeast of the hamlet of Lac La Biche, has cyanobacteria identified in the water.

Residents living near the shores of this lake, as well as visitors to this lake, are reminded to avoid all contact with blue-green algae blooms.

Visitors and residents are asked to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any recreational body of water, including Elinor Lake, at any time. Boiling of this water will not remove the toxins produced by blue-green algae, AHS said.

Moose Lake beside Bonnyville had a similar advisory released on Monday, as well as Floatingstone Lake, Laurier Lake, Garner Lake, and Lac La Biche Lake earlier this summer.
