Lac La Biche County has took control of future highway repairs in their area after discussions with the provincial government.
On Wednesday the County released a statement saying that on August 1 they took charge of maintenance and development along provincial highways in the hamlet of Lac La Biche’s boundaries. This includes Main Street Lac La Biche, which is a provincial highway, and the portion of Highway 36 which leads south from Main Street past Vera M. Welsh Elementary School, continuing to the intersection with Highway 55.
The County believes by taking control over these projects, they’ll be able to quickly respond to issues and fix them, while getting out development permits and approvals faster for business.
