GALLERY: Gear Grabbers Drag Races
The Bonnyville Gear Grabbers put on a show for classic car and racing enthusiasts over the weekend.
Over 90 cars and trucks participated in their annual drag racing event at the Bonnyville Regional Airport on Saturday and Sunday.
Some travelled as far as Peace River region, Calgary, Edmonton, and from various areas of Saskatchewan as well to race, not to mention a strong local contingent of racers as well.
It was a family-friendly day with food trucks, bouncy houses, and opportunities for spectators to interact with the drivers.
The rain held off on Sunday for another competitive day of eighth-mile racing.

- Sportsman Bracket: Chris Coosemans – 74 Road Runner – Cold Lake
- Grudge: Duane Ward – 1948 Fiat Topolino – Okotoks, AB
Sunday winners:
- Pro: Gerald Riguidel – 74 Chev Vega
- Sportsman: Jackie Clarke – 95 Chev Camaro
- Grudge: Sean Marshall – 65 Ford Falcon
