Onion Lake RCMP investigate death after man suffers serious injuries
Police in Saskatchewan are investigating a death after a man suffered life-threatening injuries.
Onion Lake RCMP received a report of an unconscious adult male shortly after 9:00 a.m. on July 1st, located in a camper next to a residence on the Onion Lake Cree Nation.
A 46-year-old male, whose name was not released, was transported to hospital in Lloydminster and later taken by STARS Air Ambulance to Saskatoon as result of his injuries.
RCMP said their preliminary investigation has determined the male was the victim of an assault.
The male died in hospital on July 3 and the circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated by the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit along with Onion Lake Detachment, North Battleford General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services, and Lloydminster RCMP Police Dog Services.
