UPDATED: Highway 41 through Vermilion closed for emergency situation

UPDATE

Highway 41 is now clear through Vermilion. Emergency crews were able to contain the situation. There was no threat to the public.

BACKGROUND

Emergency crews are on site at Highway 41 through Vermilion where an emergency situation is unfolding.

Police and ambulance have the section of the highway that meets the overpass closed off.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternative routes and stay clear of the area.
