Driver pulled out of lake by passerby after single vehicle rollover on Highway 45
A report of a single-vehicle rollover on Highway #45 east of Marwayne sent Marwayne Fire & Rescue, County #9-1, Kitscoty RCMP, CVR Peace Officers, and EMS towards Alcurve this morning at 10:16 a.m.
“The initial report was for a trapped worker with possible submersion into the lake,” County Fire Chief Kirk Huges said. “Firefighters were quick on-scene and relieved to find that the driver had been pulled out by a passerby.”
Crews stabilized the scene, particularly due to the icy road conditions while other firefighters provided medical aid until the arrival of EMS.
An environmental check was completed and no fluids were found leaking into the waterway. Crews cleared the scene at 11:26 a.m.
“The curve is quite slippery even with the application of sand by EMCOM. Please drive accordingly,” County Fire Chief Kirk Huges concluded.
