Glendon students lend a helping hand to Bonnyville SPCA
Students from Glendon School have been doing what they can to lend a hand to the Bonnyville SPCA.
Miss Dillon has been bringing her students from Glendon School to volunteer a couple of hours at the shelter since last November, taking along three to four students once per week.
On April 5, they brought some donations from the Betty White challenge that they collected for the SPCA and helped with the yard cleaning.
“They help us with some chores at the shelter, these kids are awesome, they are always willing to do what is needed, but that is not enough for them, they really want to help us in any possible way,” SPCA Shelter Manager Judith Rodriguez said. “We are very grateful to them for sharing the profit of the event with the Ukraine Humanitarian Aid and us.”
Rodriguez told Lakeland Connect that the SPCA in Bonnyville is always looking for volunteers. Their printed volunteer applications are available at the shelter or can be downloaded at www.bonnyvillespca.com
“Any person under 16 or with any special needs must be accompanied by an adult all the time,” Rodriguez said.
For the Glendon School students, it’s back to work to help ease the financial burden on the SPCA.
“Don’t forget they are having a cake and dish auction today and part of the profit will be donated to us,” Rodriguez concluded.
