The Frog Lake Education Authority would like to announce that they have a grand opening planned for their new school.

The school houses grades seven to 12 school with 173 students and 32 staff members.

“Our new high school opened to students September 8, 2021, and is called Tustukeeskaws after the chief who signed Treaty 6 for this area,” Glenda Bristow Director of Education for the Frog Lake Education Authority said. “The Stanley families in Frog Lake are direct descendants for this Chief.”

The school is attached to the Frog Lake Field House which is a large gym. It also will be a part of history housing the first provincial library opened in a First Nations community.

“We have a new Frog Lake Library within the school, it is a Northern Lights Library System library, the first provincial library opened in a First Nations community,” Bristow said. “This library is mobile and is situated inside the huge auditorium located in the centre of the school.”

Lakeland Connect will attend the new school and new library grand opening on April 5 at 10:00 a.m.
