Bonnyville RCMP invesitgate multiple Break and Enters

The Bonnyville RCMP was involved in 143 investigations between March 4 and 11. During this time they were several calls for break and enters.

On March 4, at 11:00 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint that a known male had just assaulted someone and was armed with a knife at a residence in the 5500 block of 55 Street.

“RCMP responded, located the suspect, and arrested him,” Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke said.

The 35-year-old male from Bonnyville has been charged with Assault, Uttering Threats, and two counts of Mischief. He is set to appear in court on March 15.

On March 5, at 4:00 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to the second floor of an apartment on the 5300 block of 53 Avenue for an intruder.

“Residents of the apartment were woken up to the sounds of someone breaking things in their living room,” Staff Sgt. Parke said. “The suspect then attempted to enter the couple’s bedroom but they were able to close the door shut preventing the suspect from entering.”

The Mounties arrived and arrested the intoxicated 19-year-old male from Bonnyville and charged him with Breaking and Entering. He is set to appear in court on April 5.

Also on March 5, at 12:30 p.m., the Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to an apartment on the 4500 block of 42 street where a resident reported a male had broken into his apartment and stole multiple televisions, clothing, and food.

“As the RCMP arrived on scene they located the 46-year-old male suspect from Kehewin attempting to return the victim’s belongings prior to police attending,” Staff Sgt. Parke said. “The male was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering.”

He is set to appear in court on April 5.
