Wind warning issued for Lloydminster – Wainwright – Vermilion – Provost

A wind warning has been issued by Environment Canada for Lloydminster, Wainwright, Vermilion, Provost and surrounding areas.

Strong winds, with gusts up to 90 km/h, will continue early this evening.

Environment Canada issued the warning at 3:21 p.m., on Monday, March 7.

• Co. of Vermilion River near Islay and McNabb Sanctuary
• Co. of Vermilion River near Kitscoty and Marwayne
• Co. of Vermilion River near Paradise Valley
• Co. of Vermilion River near Tulliby Lake
• Co. of Vermilion River near Vermilion
• Flagstaff Co. near Alliance and Bellshill Lake
• Flagstaff Co. near Killam and Sedgewick

Blowing snow and reduced visibilities are possible as a result of the strong winds.

Winds will begin to ease later this evening.
