Lac La Biche RCMP charge male with multiple firearm related offences

On February 27, as a result of a well being check, Lac La Biche RCMP arrested a male for multiple firearms offences.

The Lac La Biche RCMP investigated and learned the male was carrying a concealed firearm in public. As a result of the investigation a search warrant was executed and multiple firearms were seized.

The Lac La Biche RCMP do not believe there was any risk to the public.

The male whose name will not be released, is facing the following charges;

• Careless use of a firearm
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Carrying a concealed weapon
• Possession of a firearm at an unauthorized place

He was brought be before a Justice of the Peace and released. He is scheduled to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on April 4, 2022.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further details can be provided.
