A Cold Lake man was arrested recently for allegedly stealing gas and has been released with more conditions by the courts in Alberta.

On February 27, at 5:45 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP were alerted to a male that was trying to steal fuel from the Industrial area.

“RCMP located a vehicle matching the description and pulled it over and determined the driver matched the description of the suspect,” Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke said. “A jerry can and hose were located inside his vehicle which had a licence plate that didn’t match the vehicle.”

The 35-year-old male from Cold Lake was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Break In Instruments/Tools, Driving While Suspended and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Condition.

Despite the fact that he was already on a different Release Order from other charges, the male was released by a Justice of the Peace on more conditions without bail.  His first appearance date is March 22 in Bonnyville.
