Outdoor rinks in the Lakeland are taking a beating with the warmer spring weather we have been experiencing and are now closed temporarily until further notice.

On February 10, the M.D. of Bonnyville posted on social media, “Well this isn’t the kind of flooding we want to see at our outdoor rinks.”

The rinks have visble water on them from the rain as they melt after all the hard work by the M.D.
“Due to the warm weather and rain, all M.D. outdoor rinks — Ardmore, Cherry Grove, and Fort Kent — are closed until further notice,” the M.D. stated.
However, the M.D. hasn’t written the rinks off yet and hope to get them back into action if the weather turns cold again.
“As soon as it cools down a little, we’ll have it back up and ready,” the M.D. said.
