A Bonnyville RCMP vehicle was damaged this week by flying ice from a truck on Highway 28.
“The recent fluctuating temperatures can cause ice to develop on vehicles, especially flat top trucks and trailers,” Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke told Lakeland Connect in the weekly media update. “When driving at highway speeds this ice can become a deadly projectile.”
The Bonnyville RCMP would like to remind motorists to completely remove large chunks of snow and ice from their rooftops before hitting the roads.
It is unclear if there were any injuries’ to the driver of the police vehicle.
