The RCMP Major Crimes Unit have made an arrest in connection with the murder of Landy Shirt in Lac La Biche.
According to an RCMP news release, “On Jan. 23, 2022, Lorne Cardinal was located in Edmonton and arrested for the murder of Landy Shirt who was found deceased in a Lac la Biche apartment on Dec.18, 2021.”
Following a judicial hearing Cardinal was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 27, 2022 in St. Paul Provincial Court.
As this matter is before the court no additional details can be released.
