Today is Family Friday for NLPS students
Today is Family Friday for students from the Northern Lights Public Schools (NLPS) system.
It’s not a new holiday says the Communications Department at NLPS, “It’s been on the school calendar since it was approved last Winter.”
A day that is meant to be spent relaxing and recharging those inner batteries which may seem drained as winter trudges on.
“It might seem a bit strange to people now because we had that extended winter break and just started school again,” Nicole Garner, from Communications Department at NLPS told Lakeland Connect.
Strengthening your family bond doesn’t have to be difficult during these trying times. There are fun activities that can create many happy memories, help you get to know each other better, and let you experience the Lakeland in new ways.
Some fun things to do include:
- Have a family game night
- Have a cookout or bonfire
- Build a blanket fort and then watch a family movie with everyone inside the fort
- Build a snowman
- Go ice fishing
- Learn a new skill together
- Crafting
“Our Family Fridays are a great opportunity for families and staff to book appointments for things that they otherwise would have to take a day off of school for, and also just to relax and spend time with their families or doing things they enjoy.”
