Ashton Cumby joins Winnipeg Ice on road trip

Bonnyville’s Ashton Cumby may be making his WHL debut soon.

The Winnipeg Ice announced that they have recalled the defenceman from the Lloyd Bobcats U18AAA team to join them in the midst of their four-game roadtrip.

Cumby has 10 points (5 goals and 5 assists) and 76 penalty minutes in 24 games with the Bobcats this season.

The 16-year-old was selected in the 4th Round, 80th overall in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

Cumby joins Winnipeg in the second of a four-game roadtrip. The Ice play the Regina Pats tonight, the Swift Current Broncos on Thursday, and finish the trip in Medicine Hat on Saturday night.
