Iron River School auction raises $13,000 in three days, new items added including gold and helicopter tour

Have you ever been on a helicopter ride? If not, well here’s your chance.

Alisha Kunec is the Vice President of the Parent Council Association for Iron River School.

“We had some last minute donations come in,” Kunec told Lakeland Connect.

Those donations include a one ounce gold nugget and the other is a beautiful aerial tour of the Lakeland in your own private helicopter for two valued at $1400.

“The nugget was mined from Otter Creek, BC and it’s worth $2581,” Kunec said.

The Parent Council Association for Iron River School fundraises for anything that falls beyond what the standard operating budget is for the school and the district. That’s why this silent auction is so important.

“With donations from our 2020 auction, we were able to provide support to our Physical Education Program by upgrading items that were completely exhausted as well as providing equipment that the program previously did not have,” Kunec said. “The PAC was able to set aside funds for our ongoing playground fundraising campaign. We also upgraded sensory tools for our students and aided in classroom purchases of important learning tools such as early reader books, library books, and musical instruments. As always, funds raised this year will go towards continuing to improve education and facilities for the students and school.”

The auction started on December 4 at 9:00 a.m. and runs till December 12 at 9:00 p.m. and is a one stop Christmas shop.
