Pair arrested for having loaded firearm and outstanding warrants after traffic stop

The Mounties in Bonnyville have taken two wanted individuals off the streets in the Lakeland.

According to the RCMP, “On November 25, at 5:45 p.m., a member of the Bonnyville RCMP was conducting proactive patrols in the town of Bonnyville and initiated a roadside check with a suspicious vehicle and found both the male driver and female passenger to be wanted on warrants and were arrested.”

Furthermore, a loaded firearm was located in their vehicle. It is unclear what type of firearm it was.

Sgt. Sarah Parke is the Detachment Commander for the Bonnyville RCMP.

“The 29-year-old male from the Glendon area is being charged with six counts of Firearms offences and one count of Driving an Uninsured motor vehicle,” Sgt. Parke told Lakeland Connect. The 29-year-old female from Cochrane is being charged with seven firearms offences.”

They are currently both in custody awaiting bail hearings.
