High school volleyball zones begin this weekend

High school volleyball teams are putting their skills to the test this weekend.

The northeast zone competitions are this Friday and Saturday for local schools spanning as far south as Vermilion and Lloydminster to the top corner of the province in Fort McMurray.

Broken down by school sizes, teams from 1A-4A will battle for a zones banner, and the right to represent their zone at Provincials.

1A boys zones is in Two Hills and girls play in Plamandon. 2A Zones boy competition is held in Lamont and girls at Assumption while the 3A battle will commence in Fort McMurray.

The school volleyball season begins immediately to start the class season until the last week of November.

2A boys volleyball Provincials are hosted by Assumption Jr/Sr High. From November 24 to 26, Assumption will play host to teams from across the province.
