Lac La Biche RCMP arrest male for flight from police and multiple other warrants
The Mounties in Lac La Biche have got their man.
On Oct. 20, around 10:00 a.m., the Lac La Biche RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle at Spruce Point Campground in Beaver Lake Cree Nation.
Cst. Cassandra Calverley is a Media Relations Officer with the Lac La Biche RCMP.
“Lac La Biche RCMP attended and located the truck,” Cst. Calverley told Lakeland Connect. “The single male occupant was asleep, and was identified as Joseph Victor Tremblay of Lac La Biche. Tremblay was currently under investigation for multiple flight from police and other charges as well as multiple warrants.”
Cst. Calverley says Joseph Victor Tremblay, 29, of Beaver Lake Cree Nation, was arrested and is facing 15 charges, which include:
- Flight from Police (x2)
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2)
- Possession of firearm contrary to order (x2)
Following a judicial hearing, Tremblay was remanded into custody on conditions to attend St. Albert Provincial Court on Oct. 25, 2021.
“As these mattes are now before the courts, no further updates or details surrounding the incident will be provided,” Cst. Calverley concluded.
