An intoxicated male yelling and swearing at various locations in Bonnyville would eventually headbutt the arresting office from the Bonnyville RCMP.

According to police, “On October 20, at 8:15 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP received several calls back to back about an intoxicated male yelling and swearing at various locations in Bonnyville.”

Sgt. Sarah Parke is the Detachment Commander for the Bonnyville RCMP.

“He was loitering in a local bank vestibule and became abusive to staff when they asked him to leave,” Sgt. Parke told Lakeland Connect. “He then chased and yelled at a high school student until they reached the school and a teacher had to usher the students in and direct the male to leave.”

The man from Kehewin didn’t stop there Sgt. Parke says.

“He then entered the Public Health office in the Provincial building screaming obscenities at the staff there and inviting nursing staff to fight him,” Sgt. Parke said. “Lastly he attended a convenience store, walked up to an employee, and punched him in the face before fleeing on foot.”

The Bonnyville RCMP conducted immediate patrols and located the male near a business on 50th Ave where he was arrested, but not before resisting and head-butting the arresting officer.

“Once back at the Bonnyville Detachment the male proceeded to assault a second officer during the booking in process,” Sgt. Parke said.

The 28-year-old man from Kehewin has been charged with Assault, two counts of Assaulting a Police Officer, four counts of Mischief Under $5000, Criminal Harassment, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Methamphetamine, and three counts of Failing to Comply with Conditions.

He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in court on October 26.
