Bonnyville RCMP is reminding residents to lock their vehicles

The Bonnyville RCMP would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles, after five trucks were stolen in area in the last nine days.

According to the RCMP, four other vehicles were broken into and had items stolen from them during the same timeframe.

Sgt. Sarah Parke is the Detachment Commander of the the Bonnyville RCMP.

“The Bonnyville RCMP would like to remind residents to ensure their vehicles are locked when parked and that the keys are never left inside an unattended vehicle,” Sgt. Parke told Lakeland Connect.

On September 30, a 31-year-old male from Cold Lake stole a family member’s 2015 Grey Dodge Ram Truck.  This truck has not yet been recovered and bears Alberta Licence Plate CGN2863.

“The 31-year-old male has been charged and there is a Warrant out for his arrest,” Sgt. Parke said.

“On October 3, another suspect stole a 2003 blue Chevrolet truck,” Sgt. Parke said. “The 21-year-old female from Frog Lake has been charged with the theft and a Warrant for her arrest is pending.  The truck has since been recovered in Cold Lake.”

Also stolen and not yet recovered are a red Ford F350 bearing Alberta Licence Plate CCM 1063 taken from the area of Twp 614 and RR 450 on September 29 and a dark blue 2002 GMC Sierra truck bearing Alberta Licence Plate BPJ 8583 taken from the 4700 block of 41 Street in Bonnyville on September 27.

“Anyone with any knowledge of the whereabouts of any of these outstanding stolen vehicles is urged to contact their local police,” Sgt. Parke concluded.
