Morning Moose Lake MVA closes Highway 28

A motor vehicle accident (MVA) at the Vezeau Beach Park turnoff at Moose Lake closed Highway 28 for a short time this morning.

One person was sent to the hospital with undetermined injuries says Dan Heney, the Regional Deputy Chief with the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA).

EMS, the Bonnyville RCMP, and the BRFA all attended the scene.

The BRFA quickly took control once on scene and Highway 28 was swiftly closed and traffic was diverted. Crews spent upwards of an hour clearing debris from the roadway while waiting for the two wrecked cars to be removed by tow trucks.

Lakeland Connect spoke briefly with Sgt. Sarah Parke from the Bonnyville RCMP to inquire about the cause of the accident.
