Bear warning issued in the Vermilion River Valley area

A bear roaming the river valley in the Town of Vermilion is still on the loose.

The Town of Vermilion issued the warning via their website on Thursday, September at 10:27 a.m. saying, “Be aware of a bear roaming the Vermilion River Valley area. Residents that live near the river valley use extra caution.”

Lakeland Connect was in contact with Greg Maughan, Town of Vermilion Bylaw Officer who told us Alberta Fish & Wildlife were notified by the person that called about seeing the bear.

The bear hasn’t been caught or relocated at this time so please use caution if you’re in the area.
