Cpl. Teri-Ann Bakker is a Media Relations Officer with the RCMP.
“Preliminary investigation reveals two vehicles were involved, a pick-up truck and a semi truck,” Cpl. Baker told Lakeland Connect. “The pick-up truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 28 and the semi-truck was travelling westbound on Highway 28. It appears there was a head on collision after the pick-up truck crossed the center line just west of Fort Kent. The 27-year-old male driver of the pick-up truck was declared deceased on scene.”
An RCMP collision analyst was engaged and attended the scene Cpl. Baker says.
“Traffic was temporarily rerouted and has resumed to normal,” Cpl. Baker said.
The Bonnyville RCMP investigation is on-going. There are no further media releases anticipated.
Lakeland Connect would like to express its sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.
