Lac La Biche County needs your help to make sure less fortunate children have school supplies for this upcoming school year.

Jihad Moghrabi is the Manager of Communications for Lac La Biche County.

“Kids are heading back to school soon, and we’re looking for enough donated school supplies to fill 80 backpacks for local students,” Moghrabi told Lakeland Connect.

RCMP, County Peace Officers, the Lac La Biche County Fire Department, and Lac La Biche Associated Ambulance have challenged each other to collect supplies, and the least successful group will get soaked by a fire truck.

“Donations can be brought to Britton’s Your Independent Grocers and Value Drug Mart (for the County’s Peace Officers), IDA and Screenshot Computers (for Associated Ambulance), the Protective Services Building (for Fire Rescue Services), or the local RCMP detachment,” Moghrabi said. “Items needed include backpacks, lunch bags, pencil cases, white erasers, pencil crayons, rulers, glue sticks, scissors, duotangs, highlighters, pencil sharpeners, crayons, notebooks (170-page, lined), calculators, thick-tip markers, geometry sets, post-it notes, and 2-inch binders.”

Pitch in if you can to help a child in need get the education they deserve.
