Fire restriction now in place for Lac La Biche County permitting area
Due to a long-term forecast of elevated temperatures and dry conditions, a fire restriction is in place for Lac La Biche County’s permitting area.
No new fire permits will be issued for all non-essential burning. Small, safe cooking and warming fires (campfires) are still permitted at this time.
If you have any questions about burn permits, please contact Lac La Biche County’s complaint line at 780-623-6767.
Permitting: Lac La Biche County and Alberta’s Forest Protection Area
The County and the provincial government handle fire permitting and wildfire management in different areas.
This is because most of the County falls within Alberta’s Forest Protection Area. Click here to see a map of the County, showing who is responsible for which areas.
If your property is in an area handled by the provincial authorities, you will need to contact Alberta Agriculture & Forestry about fire permits.
Call (780) 623-5388 to contact the local branch.
