Hit and run destroys Cold Lake Restaurant Patio
One restaurant in Cold Lake took a huge blow over the weekend after a hit and run.
Glass littered the street at Original Joe’s early Monday morning which is located at 5302 50 Ave in Cold Lake after half of their outside seating area was destroyed.
Cpl. Deanna Fontaine is a Media Relations Officer with the Alberta RCMP.
“On May 10, at 12:15 a.m., a vehicle struck the patio area of the Original Joe’s restaurant in Cold Lake, and then fled the area,” Cpl. Fontaine told Lakeland Connect. “The patio area was damaged extensively. The police investigation led to locating a possible suspect vehicle. The police investigation continues and Provincial violation tickets are anticipated against the registered owner of the suspect vehicle.”
A huge blow for a local business that is just trying to survive during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are saddened to see half our patio destroyed,” Original Joe’s posted on Facebook. “But more than thankful that none of our staff or guests were injured. Original Joe’s would like to thank you all that has reached out, the RCMP who came last night, people who have called to report this unfortunate event, the city for helping clean the street, and most importantly this community as you are all so supportive.”
