Lac La Biche RCMP arrest and charge male for downtown break and enter
The Mounties in Lac La Biche have made an arrest for a break and enter and caught the culprit in the act as he fled the scene.
According to police, “On April 19, at 2:40 a.m., the Lac La Biche RCMP received a 911 call of a break and enter in progress to a business in downtown Lac La Biche.”
The Lac La Biche RCMP attended and located a male fleeing the scene on foot. The RCMP then took the male suspect into custody.
The suspect is believed to have used a tool that was recovered nearby, to cause severe damage to the rear of the business in an effort to gain entry. The RCMP say an estimated $2,000 in clothing was stolen and later recovered nearby.
Beatah Devine, 30, of Lac La Biche faces the following charges:
- Break and enter with intent to commit theft
- Mischief over $5,000
- Disguised with intent to commit offence
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Failure to comply with undertaking
Following a judicial hearing, Devine was released to attend court in Lac La Biche on May 3, 2021.
As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
