Bonnyville man arrested after altercation downtown

One man has been charged following an early morning altercation in downtown Bonnyville.

At approximately 4:00am on March 22, Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint of an injured male requesting assistance in the area of 50 Street and 51 Avenue.

Members attended and the male was transported to hospital by EMS where he was treated and is expected to make a full recovery, RCMP said.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim got into an altercation with another male at or near the intersection of 50 Street and 50 Avenue, which resulted in the victim’s injuries, police said.

Christopher Lepine, 34, of Bonnyville has been charged with aggravated assault, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking condition.

He was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released on $250.00 with conditions. His next appearance in court is set for April 6th.
