Road bans in the County of Vermilion River begin Friday
The County of Vermilion River has announced a list of road bans effective Friday, March 19.
The following portions of oil surfaced roads will be banned at 75 per cent of their maximum allowable weight:
- RR11 from TWP 502 to TWP 503
- RR 12 from TWP 504 to TWP 502
- RR 13 from HWY 16 to Rolling Greens
- RR 20 from HWY 619 to TWP 474
- RR 20 from HWY 16 to HWY 619
- RR 20 from within the Hamlet of McLaughlin & all roads within
- RR 21 from HWY 16 to Blackfoot
- RR 23 from HWY 16 to TWP 500
- RR 43 from Dewberry from TWP 530
- RR 53 from HWY 45 to TWP 542
- RR 55 from TWP 522 to TWP 532
- RR 55 from TWP 542 to HWY 45
- RR 64 from TWP 512 to Cloverview Estates
- RR 64A from TWP 512 South 1.5 miles
- TWP 474 from HWY 897 to RR 41
- TWP 480 from HWY 41 to RR 62
- TWP 494 from HWY 897 to RR 12
- TWP 500 from HWY 41 to RR 71
- TWP 501 from HWY 41 to RR 71
- TWP 504 from RR 14 to RR 12
- TWP 511 from RR 73 to HWY 41
- TWP 512 from RR 64 to RR 64A
- TWP 514 from HWY 17 to RR 13
- TWP 532 from HWY 41 to RR 55
- TWP 532 from RR 50 to HWY 893
- TWP 542 from RR 50 to HWY 897
The county says these bans are put in place to protect and preserve public safety as well as county infrastructure. The duration of the ban is unknown so residents and workers are asked to monitor the county’s website and social media for further updates.
All vehicles 22,500 kg and over require a permit to operate on county roads.
