Bonnyville RCMP charge three, believe missing stolen vehicle is linked

Bonnyville RCMP arrested three people early Wednesday morning while conducting patrols in the Iron River area.

Police said they saw two suspicious vehicles and when trying to do a traffic stop, the vehicles fled and drove into the ditch.

As multiple suspects fled on foot, RCMP said they contained the area while the Police Dog service attended to track the suspects.

The track eventually led to the arrest of three suspects.

The suspects were 36 year old Robert Cardinal of Lac La Biche, 28 year old Corey Gladue of Island Lake, Sask and 26 year old Alexander Potts of Redwater all face multiple charges including flight from police and possession of property less than $5000.

Cardinal faces five charges and Gladue faces seven.

Cardinal and Gladue were remanded into custody with Potts being released on an undertaking for court in Bonnyville.

Meanwhile a stolen vehicle investigation later that morning is linked to the three suspects.

RCMP said that morning a complainant reported his truck stolen from his shop with footprints leading to where it would’ve been overnight.

The outstanding stolen vehicle is a 2011 white GMC Sierra with possible rear-end damage.

Police said the vehicle was stolen in relation to the flight from police investigation and RCMP believe there is a fourth suspect involved.
