Pack the PC collecting food bank donations Saturday

A staple community initiative by local RCMP is returning this year.

Spearheaded over the years by S/Sgt Sarah Parke, the Bonnyville RCMP detachment spends a Saturday collecting food for local food banks.

The “cram the cruiser” or “pack the police car” event comes this Saturday outside of Sobeys from 10:00am-2:00pm.

Sobey’s will have pre-packaged $5 and $10 bags of groceries available.

This event will abide by COVID regulations, the detachment said, as it will be outdoors.

“Interaction with the public will be limited and the appropriate masks will be worn,” the detachment said.

Last year, they were able to fill two police trucks and the Mounties hope to continue the tradition of giving again this year.
