Bonnyville’s limited services will continue, while encouraging phone calls and emails first.

Cold Lake RCMP is following suit with another local detachment in deciding to lock their doors for the foreseeable future.

Effective Thursday, November 19, the front door at the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment will remain locked until further notice.

Cold Lake RCMP said they would like to ensure the public that we will still have boots on the ground as there will be no changes in police response and will continue to meet the needs of our communities and areas we serve.

St. Paul RCMP detachment’s doors are now locked as of Wednesday.

In Bonnyville, the detachment is still limiting access into the building but is open between 10:00am-2:00pm.

“We are requesting that basic criminal records checks, statements of loss, statements for investigations, etc..be emailed to the general Bonnyville detachment account,” said Sgt. Kim Hillier in a written statement.

“The public can call us for a determination on whether access to the building will be required based on their circumstances.”

If you have an emergency, please call 911.
