CommAlert Emergency Communications discontinued Nov. 30
A Message from the Regional Director of Emergency Management
Re: CommAlert Emergency Communications
A number of years ago, the Region of St. Paul enlisted the services of the CommAlert Group as a platform to deliver emergency communications to our ratepayers.
This was done in an effort to keep our citizens informed by receiving effective communication in emergency situations.
After reviewing this program, we have determined only a very small percentage of our citizens have signed up for this free service.
In an effort to streamline our operations, and ensure fiscal responsibility, the CommAlert service will cease to exist within the Region of St. Paul effective midnight on November 30, 2020.
As has always been the case, if a critical alert is to be issued either in our Region, or within the Province, the method used will be through the Alberta Emergency Alert.
Alerts are issued by the communities where a disaster or emergency is occurring. By signing up to receive this information directly, you will be better informed about potential risks to your health, safety or community.
There are many ways to sign up to receive alerts directly to your phone or computer. You may choose to subscribe or unsubscribe at any time. See the Alberta Emergency Alert website under “Sign-up for Alerts”.
