A collision Thursday morning on Tropicana Hill has resulted in a fatality.

On Nov. 5, at approximately 7:40 a.m., Cold Lake RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 28 and Range Road 624.

Cold Lake RCMP said Friday afternoon that their investigation so far has revealed a truck was travelling northbound on Highway 28 and a SUV was heading southbound when a head on collision occurred.

A third vehicle veered into a ditch to avoid the collision and the occupant was not injured.

The 55-year-old driver of the SUV from Ardmore, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult male driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Cold Lake RCMP along with an RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate. All possible contributing factors to this collision remain under investigation, RCMP said.
