Holiday Parade of Trees to have shop local focus

Businesses are being encouraged to decorate festive trees as part of the chamber’s Holiday Parade of Trees this winter.

The Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce has decided with the Festival of Trees committee to change the event so there isn’t a cluster at one location, like the Bold Centre, due to the pandemic.

The hope is it will drive more foot traffic and a shop local focus during the Christmas season, plus being able to help out community groups.

A map of the tree locations will be set up and the same format with tickets being purchased and dropped in the drawboxes will remain the same.

Also, the Chamber is having an advent calendar promotion “The 24 days of Joy” where people can also drop their tickets into a box at the Chamber office for a daily 24-day prize draw.

November 14th is the cutoff for registration to participate and to have the tree location added to the map. The event will run from November 23rd – December 7th with the trees being drawn at noon on December 7th.

The “24 Days of Joy” will run from November 30th – December 23rd.

The Online Wreath Auction will end December 7th.

Festival of Trees is anticipated to return in 2021.
