AJHL regular season is a go–starts Nov. 13
Yaks will play two more exhibition games against the Lloyd Bobcats before the regular season begins.
There will be an Alberta Junior Hockey League regular season.
The AJHL announced on Thursday afternoon that the regular season will begin November 13, after a Board of Governors meeting yesterday.
The league said they will play a divisional format, so the Bonnyville Pontiacs will play games within the North Division against opponents in the Lloydminster Bobcats, Fort McMurray Oil Barons, Whitecourt Wolverines, Grande Prairie Storm, Sherwood Park Crusaders, Spruce Grove Saints, and Drayton Valley Thunder.
Fan capacity, social distancing protocols, and ticket sales are to be determined by the facilities and teams.
However, a full schedule has not yet been released, nor dates for the annual AJHL Showcase, season end date, and playoff format, which will come later.
The Pontiacs finished a series of six exhibition games against the Oil Barons last Saturday, winning two and losing four games, and will play the Lloydminster Bobcats next weekend in a home and home series to wrap up the pre-season.
The Yaks will be on the road Friday, November 6 to play the Bobcats at 7:30pm, before returning home Saturday, November 7 at 7:00pm for the rubber match.
