Staff member tests positive for COVID at Points West Living in Cold Lake

A lockdown has been declared at Points West Living in Cold Lake after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

As of Sunday, AHS notified Points West Living as meeting the definition of a COVID-19 outbreak.

That is declared when a staff member who is confirmed to have COVID-19 that worked at the site during the communicable period without use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment or when any resident is confirmed to have tested positive.

In a press release, Points West said last Tuesday was the last of work for the staff member, who did not return to work after this day.

They went for testing and notified fellow staff. On Friday, their test came back positive.

On Sunday, AHS confirmed the positive infection and declared a lockdown.

Testing is being made available in the community for all PWL Cold Lake residents and ECPs.
