Fall clean up begins in Vermilion
The Town of Vermilion kicked off their Fall Clean Up Program yesterday.
Until Friday, residents will have the opportunity to leave small household items in their front yards for pick-up.
“We’re very happy to be able to provide this service to residents as part of our regular solid waste disposal program,” said Derek Young, Director of Infrastructure and Planning Services.
“There is no additional charge and it helps accommodate people who may not have a truck to transport these items.”
If items are not placed outside before October 23, or the town is unable to pick up the items residents will have to drop them off at the Vermilion Regional Transfer Station.
With the growing season coming to a close, bagged garden waste and three foot tied tree bundles can be disposed of. Books or magazines, broken toys with the batteries removed, or small appliances such as coffee pots, toasters or blenders could also be included.
The program is unable to accept any hazardous, heavy or large items.
Any uncertain items or questions can be directed to the Infrastructure and Planning Department at 780-581-2415.
