MLA Goodridge highlights jobs in LLB’s $1M in stimulus
Lac La Biche County will be receiving over $1 million in Municipal Stimulus Funding that will also help to create jobs in the process.
“Local investment into our communities is so important to create jobs during the worst economic recession Alberta has seen since the 1930s,” said MLA for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche, Laila Goodridge.
“Alberta’s Recovery Plan is helping municipalities like Lac La Biche County get residents back to work. I am grateful to Alberta’s government for the investment in my riding.”
Lac La Biche County has already decided what infrastructure projects their Municipal Stimulus Funding will go towards.
There are four bridges in the hamlet, Gold River bridge, Uganecz bridge, Campsite road bridge, and Nashim drive bridge, the money will be spent on as well as the siding for the Plamondon Arena.
“Lac La Biche County is grateful to the Government of Alberta for providing Municipal Stimulus Program funding: keeping Albertans working and supporting municipalities’ vital infrastructure projects is an ideal way to help our province weather these difficult economic times,” said Mayor of Lac La Biche, Omer Moghrabi.
The funding is going towards infrastructure projects and it is a part of Alberta’s Recovery Plan part of $500 million in investment given to municipalities since March.
