Tanner Boser moving up UFC rankings ahead of October bout

Last Updated: September 8th, 2020By

The “Fear the Beard” and “Fear the Mullet” heavyweight is gaining recognition as one of the best in the division.

Fresh off of two knockouts in just under a month this summer, Tanner Boser is now ranked amongst the Top 15 in the UFC’s heavyweight division as of Tuesday.

Boser (3-1) is set to enter the octagon against MMA veteran and former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski on October 3 is looking for a three fight win streak.

“I gotta beat Arlovski to cement this, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless to be #15 in the UFC,” said Boser on Instagram.

This will be the fifth fight for the “Bulldozer” in a calendar year since making his UFC debut on October 18, 2019 against Daniel Spitz–winning a unanimous decision.

Boser beat Raphael Pessoa with a flurry of punches for the finishing knockout in his last appearance on July 25.

Called a future hall of famer in his sport, Boser’s opponent Andrei Arlovski held the interim and undisputed heavyweight championship for 551 days from 2005 to 2006.

Both fighters are coming off of victories against Phillipe Lins this year.

Arlovski is 2-2-0-1 in his last five fights.
