Lac La Biche RCMP charge male for second degree murder

On Aug. 13, 2020 at approximately 3:20 p.m., Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in a wooded area near 94 Avenue in Lac La Biche. The male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit assumed carriage of the investigation and have charged Ryan Lavallee (31) of Lac La Biche with second degree murder in the death of Joshua Lavallee (27).

Ryan Lavallee was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is set to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on Aug. 17, 2020. The RCMP are not seeking any other suspects.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be released.
