Two active COVID-19 cases in Cold Lake, nine in Smoky Lake County

There are two active cases of COVID-19 in Cold Lake according to the province’s virus data map on Wednesday.

Three of those infected in the Cold Lake area have resolved symptoms.

There are currently no active cases within the M.D. of Bonnyville, County of St. Paul, Lac La Biche County, County of Two Hills, and County of Minburn.

There remains three active cases of COVID-19 in the County of Vermilion River, which were confirmed on Tuesday.

Smoky Lake County currently has nine active infections with one recovery.

One death has previously been reported in the County of Two Hills, while eight people have recovered.

Active cases trending downward

Provincewide, 94 new cases were reported and two additional deaths.

Hospitalizations are also down to 75, with 20 people in intensive care units.

In total, 1,146 of 11,240 total cases are active.

The death toll now sits at 203.

The average age for COVID cases that died is 84 years, ICU stays is 62 years, for COVID cases hospitalized is 63 years.

The average age for COVID cases not hospitalized is 39 years.
