Bold Center has extended their hours

The Bold Center in Lac La Biche has extended their hours this week.

On July 20, the Bold Center officially went back to more regular hours resembling those pre-COVID. The new hours are Monday to Friday, 6 am to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm.

At the beginning of July, the hours were 12 pm to 8 pm, and gym go-ers were restricted on when and how long they were allowed to use the facilities. Jihad Moghrabi, the Communications Manager at Lac La Biche County, says this is has now changed.

“We no longer require patrons to use the gym at certain times (i.e. from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, etc.). We are now permitting Bold Center users to book times in the fitness center in 30-minute increments, up to 1.5 hours at a time, for any period during the Bold Center’s open hours,” said Moghrabi.

During peak gym hours, residents are asked to call in and reserve their spot as there are still restrictions on how many people are allowed in the gym at any given time. This will be done on a first come first serve basis.

Anyone that does access the gym is asked to wipe their machines down twice, once before using the machine and once afterwards to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.

The County is anticipating that with the extended hours, more people will be able to use the gym as the hours are more flexible.

“We are hoping that the Bold Center’s extended hours will accommodate a wider variety of lifestyles and schedules, all while respecting physical distancing and other Alberta Health Services guidelines,” said Moghrabi.

“We’d like to thank our patrons for their patience and understanding as we reopen County programs and services safely.”
