Vermilion RCMP recover rifles believed to be stolen

Police in Vermilion are looking to find the home of a few possibly stolen firearms.

On Wednesday, Vermilion RCMP were notified that three long-barrelled rifles were found by a snowplow operator.

Police believe these items may have been stolen and discarded sometime between Feb. 9-19.

They recovered the weapons and secured them for safekeeping and believe the owners may not be aware the guns were stolen.

These items can be claimed at the Vermilion RCMP detachment.

The owner should be prepared to produce a valid firearms licence and provide a detailed description of the three rifles.

Vermilion RCMP is asking anyone who may have information related to these items to contact us at 780-853-4441 or your local police. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com (http://www.p3tips.com ) or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
