What to expect at Lakeland Connect’s Family Expo
A day meant for the whole family to enjoy is happening on Saturday.
Lakeland Connect has teamed up with the Tent Guys to host the first ever Family Expo at the Centennial Centre from 10:00am-6:00pm.
Organizer Caitlyn Bush is using her event planning experience with the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce and Survivor Lakeland to coordinate the expo.
She said she’s excited about the opportunity and fun it provides parents and kids.
“Lots of parents are always saying how they wish that the Lakeland offered more family-friendly activities for their young children or for themselves as a family unit,” she said.
“It’s a one day only event though, so you can’t miss it. We think it’s a perfect fit, having it over Family Day long weekend.”
There will be vendors on hand with activities and giveaways geared towards families and entertainment at the expo as well.
Make sure you visit each vendor, as each person through the door gets a bingo card to travel with through the event. If they fill out their card, they could win prizes, including a pizza party from Boston Pizza.
Bounce houses are provided by the Tent Guys and the Bonnyville Baptist Church, as well as a Nerf gun shooting range.
Pups will be on hand from 11:00-1:00pm to play with and interactive storytelling with balloon twisted props, from Clown Mingle that’s happening shortly after until 2:00pm.
There’s also still time to enter your child for the Baby Crawl and Toddler Walk that gets going at 2:00pm for a chance to win a $100 gift card from Home Hardware Bonnyville.
Around that time, Lakeland Connect will announce the winner of the Lakeland’s Most Adorable Contest.
If you like to putt, mini golf will be there from Rocky Meadows Country Getaway, and board games you can play at the Mythik Games booth.
Wild at Heart Photography is going to have a photo booth setup that you can pay a small fee to get some photos taken on the spot with your family.
Hockey players from the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs will also be making appearances.
Admission into the event is $5 while children ages 12 and under get in for free.
“It’s a great opportunity for families to celebrate themselves over Family Day long weekend with a full day of family fun, entertainment events, all at one place being the Centennial Centre.”
