UPDATE Driver collides with RCMP vehicle in Kitscoty

UPDATE

An 18-year-old male turned himself into police at the Kitscoty Detachment on Dec. 21, 2019, regarding this investigation.

He was charged with two offences under the Traffic Safety Act: drive carelessly and driver in an accident with unattended vehicle fail to locate and notify owner. He will be appearing in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 21, 2020.

Kitscoty RCMP would like to thank the public and media regarding this matter.

 

BACKGROUND

 

On Dec. 17 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a vehicle collided with the Kitscoty RCMP Detachment sign and one of the parked police vehicles, causing extensive damage.

The suspect then drove off without reporting the collision.

The RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying the person responsible.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a mid to late 2000’s Dodge pickup truck that is white or silver and will have damage to the passenger side headlight area.

A surveillance still of the suspect vehicle as well as photograph of the resulting damage to RCMP property are attached.
