Bonnyville Pontiacs defenseman Jeremy Gervais has been the AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for his offensive prowess over the week.
Gervais recorded seven assists during the Bonnyville Pontiacs four-game southern swing last week, including three in the Pontiacs comeback on Saturday night against the Canmore Eagles.
He sits 5th amongst defensemen in AJHL scoring with five goals and 16 assists and 4th in team scoring.
Pontiacs adding at deadline
The Bonnyville Pontiacs declared their 25 man roster at the Dec. 1 deadline over the weekend and acquired another piece.
Andres Bridgewater (’00) is now a Bonnyville Pontiac after being acquired from the Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL).
Bridgewater played with current Pontiacs Josh Kroon and Cayden Shmyr on the Calgary Mustangs last season, where he scored 33 points in 51 games.
This year he has 10 points in 22 games.
Crusaders first visit
Wednesday night will be a big test for the Bonnyville Pontiacs as they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders for just the second meeting this season.
There is a chance that high-flying studs like AJHL leading scorer Carter Savoie, defenceman Michael Benning, and netminder Carter Gylander could miss the game.
Each were selected to Team Canada West’s training camp which concluded Tuesday.
The Pontiacs went 9-4 in the month of November (19-8-2) and are on pace to tie for the third-most wins in franchise history.
